Our Process

Design and layout are the first steps in the cabinet making process. Damewood’s offers design services but also accepts references from outside sources. We use a software program called KCDw for our layouts. Once a design and layout have been chosen the building begins.

Damewood’s is equipped with professional grade equipment and tools. Inside our building you would find a vast dust collection system attached to all our equipment. How about a look inside our OSAH approved spray booth?

Solid wood is used on all the cabinetry. Plywood is used for the sides and backs; one place where the “green” option can be used. Raw lumber is purchased from West Virginia companies. The drawers are dovetailed and made of solid maple.

All the components are hand sanded and assembled in house to meet the quality standards of Damewood’s. The cabinets then go to the spray booth to either be painted or hand stained. Then a clear conversion varnish is air sprayed. It is a catalyst finish and once cured, it is nearly indestructible and impervious to the elements.

Finally the cabinets are assembled. The hinges and drawer slides are adjusted to make sure they work properly, and all other components are checked for accuracy. Once completed; the product is ready to be delivered. We also install our products so that a final check can be done to be sure all components are correct and functional.
